All performing organizations through the Department of Bands are open to any Illinois State student wishing to participate.

You do not have to be a music major to perform. Non-majors play in every ensemble at Illinois State.

Non-auditioned Concert Ensembles

University Band

No audition is necessary to perform with University Band. Students wishing to participate may be asked by the conductor to play excerpts from the University Band folder for part assignments.  For more information, contact theUniversity Band conductors: Keera Johnson, Bradley Harris,or Kent Krause.

Non-auditioned Athletic Ensembles

No audition is necessary to perform with the Big Red Marching Machine or the Courtside Players. Visit the athletic bands page for more information.
